Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said his Government was looking East in a bid to counter water woes and replicate Singapore’s water re-use model, which consists of recycling waste water for re-use post treatment and several stages of filtration for replication in Delhi. Singapore does not have any water of its own. Almost 95 percent of water comes from outside. He added they plan to begin with 10 to 15 pilot projects on the same lines in Delhi in a month or so.
The procedure includes filtering of used water in such a way that water used in toilets goes to toilets and similarly waste water from kitchen is used in the kitchens again. The water quality, after it is filtered, is as good as of mineral water. He believes if it could work in Delhi, “there would be no water shortage in the city.
