BJP MP Hema Malini stressed the miserable state of the Yamuna river in the Lok Sabha also called for serious action to confrontation the problem of water insufficiencyhounding the temple towns of Mathura and Vrindavan. She equated Yamuna with a “vast sewage canal”. She demanded that the two gates of the Hathini Kund barrage be opened immediately to release water for the downstream cities.
